Hartford Stage Offers Free Performance by Daniel Beaty September 22
What: Hartford Stage presents "An Evening with Daniel Beaty," a free performance by the award-winning writer and performer on Monday, September 22. Featuring Beaty's unique blend of music, poetry, dance, comedy, and drama, the evening will include spoken word performance, insightful conversation with the audience, and brief scenes from his most notable plays, including Emergence-SEE!, which recently played to sold-out audiences in Los Angeles, and Resurrection. This fall, Hartford Stage will present the world premiere of a new full-length, six-actor version of Resurrection, which was workshopped in Hartford earlier this year.

In 2006, his Off-Broadway hit Emergence-SEE! took New York by storm at the Public Theater and was the centerpiece of Hartford Stage's Brand:NEW Fall Festival of New Work last November. Beaty's awards include a 2007 Obie Award for Outstanding Writing and Performance, 2006 Ovation, Acclaim, and Everyday Freedom Hero awards.
