Fund Free Theater Tickets for the Hartford Community

We at Hartford Stage are committed to creating and upholding a sustainable, relevant, equitable, responsible, and welcoming regional theater that speaks to and represents the vast diversity of our city and region. We believe that for theater to be vital to civic and individual well-being, we must take an intentional approach to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in every facet of the organization.

Help us make tickets accessible and affordable to every person in the Hartford community.

COMMUNITY TICKETS

COMMUNITY PARTNER

Library Pass Program

Since 2017 Hartford Stage has been in partnership with the Hartford Public Library, to give out FREE tickets to Hartford residents for every production on our stage.

Each of the seven Library branches has two tickets for every performance at Hartford Stage. Library cardholders may “check-out” these complimentary tickets for performances that fit their schedules.

Hartford Stage has given away over 5,000 free tickets through this program, introducing new theatregoers to the work at Hartford Stage, and engaging Library patrons more deeply. Based on survey results, we know that Library Pass users are typically younger audiences, or parents bringing their children to the theater for the first time.

COMMUNITY NIGHT

Community Night at A Christmas Carol

In our annual production of A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas, audiences join Scrooge at Community Night, before every seat in our 480-seat theater is filled, free of charge, with a member of the Hartford community who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend the performance.

Community Night brings families together to celebrate the holidays. At this special annual performance of A Christmas Carol, Hartford Stage welcomes staff and constituents from community organizations to enjoy a night out at the theater as guests of Hartford Stage.

Some of the community organizations who have joined us for this event include: Big Brothers Big Sisters, YWCA, Girls on the Run, OPMAD, Footlights, Our Piece of The Pie, Community Renewal Team, SAND School, Kinsella Magnet, Covenant Prep, Q Plus, YWCA New Britain, Pathways Senderos, My Sisters Place, OIC Of New Britain, Hartford Promise, International Peace Builders, The Artist Collective, and more!

Make your impact today by making a gift that supports the magic of live theater.
