Laughs in Spanish
March 6 – March 30, 2025
A comedy in English.
Ay, dios mío! It’s the eve of Art Basel – the major art event in Miami – and gallery director Mari is freaking out. The art has vanished, the phones are ringing off the hook, and her assistant Caro is acting suspicious. Just when she thought things couldn’t get any worse, her famous, often-absent mother Estella arrives in town… baggage in tow.
Hartford Stage reunites the director and cast, which is “filled to the brim with talent” (Broadway World), from the 2023 world premiere of this stylish and playful comedy. Mother-daughter relationships and questions about art and success are all on the table in this vibrant collage of chaos and cultura.
